Church Website Help
I decided to include this church website help article as a service to Churches so they can build quality sites for the Internet. I've designed and hosted a number of Church websites and learned much about some internet applications that can provide church website help to many.
Christian Web Hosting?
I don't believe in applying the title "Christian" to a product. Web hosting is a computing technology and is no more Christian than an automobile or blender. The larger principle that a Church ought to consider is the quality of the service for the price offered and being good stewards of their money. In my web hosting ratings, there are detailed reviews of features to match differing site needs. Service, reliability, and value for the money are all Biblical business principles. I looked at the web hosting services that call themselves "Christian Web Hosting" and found their prices to be too high for the service offered; hence, they did not appear in my top web hosting ratings.

There seems to be some connectivity issue with regarding to my VPS at Web24 (profiled at VPS AU here) right now. For my websites hosted there, the heading will load, and then part of the content, and then the browser will just stall there trying to fetch the rest of the page but they never arrive.
Web24 is coloc at Fujitsu data centre in Melbourne, and a quite traceroute check with mtr shows around 20-40% packet loss at Fujitsu data centre.

I have posted the same issue on Whirlpool Forums and so far we have got no response from the provider. Web24.com.au and their HSPcomplete panel are hosted inside the same network thus neither are working at the moment. I can’t even get onto the support page to get the contact details (lucky there is Google cache).
Not happy Jen. Have to wait and see… Maybe it is a sign that I need to go to sleep now :)
Update 9AM AEST 27 Feb
I got a reply back from Web24 support this morning detailing the communication between Web24, Fujitsu and their up stream providers. Great job! Some paraphrased details:
- Packet loss issue identified at 10:15pm on 26 February, and later found out it was an upstream router issue.
- Web24 has been working with Fujitsu and Verizon in identifying and resolving the issue, and by 1:18am 27 February, the main web24 site failed over to US network (very good idea).
- All the traffic are routing through secondary links by 4:45am, and still waiting for feedbacks on primary provider.
Pingdom still reports my site was down until around 8:20am. This is the graph generated from Cacti:
Note that the network does not appear to be down from 10pm onwards because the querying packets are small enough to get through. I guess network connectivity is going to be patchy this morning.

1,500 GB of disk space and 15,000 GB of bandwidth are a lot. Click on the small

size of the large and high quality picture is 228 KB (kilobyte). With 1,500 GB
of disk space, you can store more than 6.5 million copies of this picture! And
with 15,000 GB/month bandwidth, this picture can be viewed more than 65,700,000
times a month (That's 65.7 million)! The most suitable words to describe 1,500
GB of disk space and 15,000 GB of bandwidth are "More Than Enough!". :-)
There are many web hosts that offer large disk space and bandwidth, but keep in
mind that these web hosts might have funny restrictions such as file size limit,
daily bandwidth limit, or even binary files bandwidth limit (pictures, MP3s,
Flash ...).

support help desk. This is my favorite method to request support, because it is
fast, convenient and effective. Email support is available twenty-four hours a
day, seven days a week.
2. Support Help Desk - You will send your inquiry through the use of an online
form. All your inquires will be tracked and recorded using their ticket system.
They even keep a history of all your issues so you can refer back to them
anytime you want. There is also a knowledgebase of frequently asked questions in
the help desk so you can find your answers without creating a support ticket.
